1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and session state.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags (also known as web beacons) to operate the Service and collect usage information. References to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies unless otherwise noted.
2. How We Use Cookies
FundraiserMax sets one first-party cookie, which remembers your cookie choice (Section 3.1). Your sign-in state and interface preferences are kept in your browser's local storage. When you first visit, a banner asks which optional categories you allow. Until you choose, and whenever you decline, no analytics or marketing cookies are set and our own visit analytics stay off. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the site footer or the button in Section 5.1.
- Necessary: sign-in, security, and checkout. Always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (Section 3.2) and our own visit analytics (Section 3.3).
- Marketing: Google Ads measurement cookies (Section 3.4).
3. Cookies We Use
3.1. Your Cookie Choice, Sign-In, and Preferences
When you make a choice in the cookie banner, we store it in a necessary cookie named fm_cookie_consent on fundraisermax.com, so the choice you make on our website also applies in the CRM at crm.fundraisermax.com and you aren't asked twice. It holds only which categories you allowed and when you chose, it expires after 12 months, and it is never sent to third parties. The same choice is also kept in local storage.
When you sign in to the CRM, your sign-in token and interface preferences (dark mode, sidebar state) are stored in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. They stay there until you sign out or clear site data. Nothing in local storage is sent to third parties.
3.2. Analytics Cookies (Analytics Consent Only)
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Service by collecting aggregate, de-identified usage data. We use this information to measure performance and improve the Service.

3.3. Our Own Visit Analytics (Analytics Consent Only)
With your analytics consent, our pages record which marketing pages you view, time on page, scroll depth, pointer and click activity, and a one-time screenshot of the page, tied to a random visit ID kept in session storage (fmax_session_id). This is sent only to FundraiserMax and helps us see where visitors get stuck. Without analytics consent none of this is collected.
3.4. Email Link Counts (No Cookies)
Links to our website in FundraiserMax emails carry tags that name the email they came from (for example utm_campaign). When you arrive through one of those links, your browser sends us one message with just those tags and the page you landed on, and we add one to a daily total for that email. We don't set a cookie, store anything in your browser, or record your IP address, browser or a visit ID for this, so it works whether or not you accept analytics. We then remove the tags from the address bar so a refresh or a shared link isn't counted again.

4. Third-Party Cookies
Certain cookies are set by third-party services that we integrate with to operate and improve the Service. These include:
- Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) that help us understand usage patterns and improve performance.
- Advertising measurement (Google Ads), only with your marketing consent.
- Payment processors that set cookies in connection with payment transactions for security and fraud prevention.
- Embedded videos: our videos play from YouTube, which may set its own cookies once you press play.

5.3. Impact of Disabling Cookies
Blocking cookies does not stop you from signing in, because sign-in state is kept in local storage rather than a cookie. Blocking analytics cookies stops Google Analytics from recognizing your browser and has no effect on the Service. Blocking cookies does mean your cookie choice can't be shared between our website and the CRM, so each may ask for it once. Clearing site data or blocking local storage signs you out of the CRM.
5.4. Opting Out of Analytics
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal to websites. There is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. At this time, the Service does not respond to DNT signals. However, you can manage your tracking preferences using the browser controls and opt-out mechanisms described in Section 5.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' advance notice by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after the updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
